Update #1711
Dear Friends and Supporters of NGM:
What do you do when you get only three kicks at the can and you’ve already had two kicks?
Well since we do online banking with the mission in Bolivia this is what happened to me, and I
became very concerned because if I failed the third time I would have to go to
Bolivia and present myself personally to renew the account. So I made various
attempts to make sure that would not have to happen. Here’s what I did:
1) I phoned the bank to see if they would reset the account so that it would not become
blocked, their response was they could not do that over the phone, but that I
would have to be there personally.
2) I went to CIBC to see if they could help me. They suggested they would try to
find one of their employees who speaks Spanish to help me out. They also
suggested that I go to the University to find a Spanish teacher.
3) At the University I was put in touch with a very kind Spanish teacher from
Nicaragua. Normally the banks will not work with a mediator by phone but in
this case they did. This teacher immediately struck a very good rapport with
the bank manager at the other end.
4) The manager reset the account so we tried again but failed and were locked out for
another 24 hrs.
5) After the 24 hours the manager reset the account again but it still did not work.
6) The teacher invited me to her house for Saturday and we tried again but were unable
to get through.
7) Monday was her day off so I went to her office on Tuesday and she was swamped with her
own work, but she told me to call the bank again, and this time the manager
walked her all the way through and resolved the problem. So I did not have to
go to Bolivia but it cost me $300.00 for phone calls.
The bottom line is the Enemy is
trying to destroy this mission by putting mountains before us and (as it were)
bronze gates and iron rods, but God has overcome the evil one and is overruling
his tactics like He promised in:
Isa 45:2
“I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces
the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron,
Isa 45:3 I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hordes in secret places, that you may know that
it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.
According to these promises I believe that the vehicle will be restored as well in His time.
School holidays have begun now at the end of November and school will begin again in February 2012.
The new NGM Board members are excited about their new roles and the new leadership of the
mission. They are anticipating part of an office space in Santa Cruz together
with another business to help with the rent. This will give the mission an
address where pastors can come to for material.
Thank you for your support by prayer and finances, may the Lord bless you for that.
