Dear friends & Supporters:

If things go according to plans I expect to start my trip to Manitoba next week. The route I plan to take is: Abbotsford, Nelson, Tabor, Swift Current, Winnipeg. If anyone along this route would care to get a personal update on what is happening in Bolivia with NGM, please send me an e-mail or call me at 778-982-0581.

While being in Manitoba we hope to have our first Canadian Board meeting face to face. So far we have not seen each other in person.

As you well know the world is in much turmoil and Bolivia is not excluded. Here are some highlights:

1) Heavy rains have washed out roads and damaged a lot of areas

2) The transit system is down and on strike for higher rates

3) The town of Santa Cruz has been down for three days because of the strike

4) We are unable to get material to LaPaz for Reynaldo because the roads are out.

The good news is that although there are troublesome times the workers are doing what they can to spread the Gospel. As you will see in the attachments. Reynaldo and his wife are witnessing and giving comfort to those in the hospital. While his wife is in there giving birth by caesarean.

Some more good news is that NGM is now a registered Charity, and I just had a call from our new Treasurer, Christine Netzlaw, that she has finished the receipts and is dropping them in the mail today. So hopefully you will get them in time for filing your income tax.

Thank you to each one of you who are supporting this mission with prayer and finances. Gus on behalf of NGM.

I attach the report of the month, we ask all Christian people to pray for natural disasters which passes Bolivia. on this occasion greeting in the name of the Lord.
Reynaldo Mamani Dorado

Donations can still be sent to:

                                NEXT GENERATION MINISTRIES

                                     Grande Prairie, AB

                                            T8V 3Y0

A tax deductable receipt will be issued.

Dear Friends and Supporters of NGM:

    In Bolivia!

I just spoke to Rene who informed me that heavy rains have taken out bridges and flooded homes. Reynaldo who is in LaPaz is waiting for material but because of road problem is not able to receive any yet, so that means the work in the schools is still being held up.

Before the rain much material was distributed to other parts of Bolivia and also to Peru and Chile. Although this is the rainy season, it is much heavier then usual.

    In Canada!

1) We are pleased to announce that NGM has become a Charitable Organization for the purpose propagating the Gospel. And we will be able to issue tax deductable receipts, but so far we do not know how far we will be able to backdate donations given to NGM.

2) We are pleased to announce that NGM is now equipped with a Treasurer. Her name is Christine Netzlaw residing in Manitoba. The timing again is so perfect. It seems that God always waits to the last minute, but He is never too late. Donations can still be sent to:

                                   NEXT GENERATION MINISTRIES

And also through the website at: www.nextgenerationbolivia.org

Thank you for your support by prayer and finance. Gus on behalf of NGM

Dear Friends and Supporters of NGM:

Greetings to you from Abbotsford and from the workers in Bolivia. School will begin next month and shortly afterwards we will be able to minister to the students and teachers throughout Bolivia. Just want to give you some highlights as the new year begins.

The government

President Evo wanted to make some major changes including no religion in the schools plus other things. But much demonstration and opposition developed and the president backed down leaving the door open. It makes me think of: Rev 3:8 I know your works. Behold, I have given before you an open door, and no one can shut it.

The vehicles

The third vehicle has been repaired but the body shop has advised it would be a good idea to sell it. So Rene is thinking about selling it and buying a smaller vehicle that would run much cheaper and there are many areas a smaller vehicle would serve just as well and would be cheaper to buy. This would also give us some cash for freight to distribute much of the material to other cities throughout Bolivia.

Neighbouring Countries

People from Chile and Peru have come to Rene for material to distribute in their countries. We are so blessed to have been able to receive this big container load of material and have it in a good storage place, and have it available for beyond Bolivia.

World Missionary Press

WMP is the printing press that supplies the Scripture Booklets for us at no cost to us. This year while they realized that NGM was low on funds they offered to go the extra mile and pay for all the expense all the way from the port to the city of Santa Cruz.

I would encourage you to look at their web site at: www.wmpress.org You could look at the Pamphlet that we give to the teachers and students, it is called: “The Way to God.” It is like a miniature Bible and starts out with God being the Creator. Plus you can see in how many languages it is wrtiiten.

Caught by surprise

I have always boasted of the excellent health and strong immune system I have been able to enjoy throughout the years. Even in Bolivia while eating in areas where some people would not eat, I did and got away with it. But in the past week I’ve gone to the emergency twice. Once in Abbotsford and once in Vancouver. The symptoms were that of a stroke, so they did a cat scan and an MRI but did not confirm that it really was a stroke. But the results now is very good, I feel just as good and strong as always, and am very thankful to my Creator for that.

On behalf of NGM in Canada and Bolivia I want to thank those of you who are supporting this mission by prayer and finances, May God richly bless you for that. Gus.

Donations may be sent to: NEXT GENERATION MINISTRIES INC

                                          Box 23182

                                     Grande Prairie, AB

                                            T8V 3Y0

Also you may donate by credit card from the website: www.nextgenerationbolivia.org

Well here it is. I know it doesn’t look particularly different in terms of general format but believe me there were a load of behind the scenes changes made to this web site. Now Gus and Rene will have their very own Blog pages rather than trying to edit a patched on page to our Main page. It was very difficult to enter updates the way I had it set up before. Also, with help from our Web host operator we have and are continuing to add new security features to block out undesireable comments from being posted and to eventually allow for online donations.

In the mean time several other changes related to our donor support system and contact information have changed so that will soon be updated in our contact information.

We are still looking for a translator to help with Spanish comments and other correspondence but that will come with time.

Also I have to edit the mission Video to change the contact and support information found there.

Thanks for your prayers and patience as the site has been worked on over the last months.

The board needs to find a translator. There are a number of items we receive from Bolivia which are written in Spanish and no one on the board is fluent enough in both Spanish and Latin American dialect to adequately provide translations. As well, we occasionally receive comments in Spanish from international viewers of this web site. Sadly, my Spanish has much further to go to be sure I am reading everything correctly. So I was talking to Gus today about what options are currently available so we just decided to pray for provision in this regard. Unfortunately online tools such as Google translator and other similar translators are quite inadequate and often provide humorous results. It is clear that this is a weakness we need to trust the Lord to help us with. Thanks for praying for us.

Due to my own inexperience and a steep learning curve in the web development process, I will soon be making new web format changes. Soon both Gus and Rene will be getting new pages which will enable them to create posts and upload photos much more easily. I have recently been working with our server owner who provides us with the space for this site. Most of my development time has been spent in working behind the scenes to develop this new format. Visually it will appear somewhat the same as the current setup. However there will be some greater flexibility for personalization for each individual’s BLOG style pages. I think the changes will be more pleasing to the viewer and certainly will be much easier to use for our missionaries.

When one starts a project changes happen along the way. Next Generation Bolivia is no exception. There are some important changes happening in our structure. In particular the board is making important decisions about the funding of NGB’s work. Because those decisions are not yet official we have decided to remove from the web site information regarding supporting us for the present. I expect to be in a position of providing new support information online in the very near future but for now we’ll leave only the general information in place. The videos which include the support information will be temporarily removed as will portions of some of the postings on other pages. We trust the Lord will provide for all our needs and the Board will want to honor the Lord in the best way possible, not just with how we spend our funds but even further back into the realm of how we solicit or obtain funding. Please pray for us as we address this and certain other important decisions. Thanks for your support and may the Lord Jesus bless you indeed. Psalm 4.

I have been busy today I guess. You will now find new photos in the Photos page. All the pictures featured elsewhere in the site are there plus a few others unique to the photo page. You can look through the thumbnails and pick out individual photos or you can see them all in the slide show. Some of the pictures are small file sizes so if you look in the full screen version a couple of them will appear a bit grainy. I’d like to see if music could be added while you are viewing but I am not sure if the program I am using will allow it. The learning continues and the curve is steep.

I was speaking with Dave Klassen (one of our other board members) a short time ago and had wondered how the process for becoming an officially recognized charitable organization was going. We have not had an official board meeting for some time now so I wanted to keep up to date. Official recognition allows us to issue our own tax deductible receipts and not have to rely upon outside organizations to cover that base for us (as much as we have greatly appreciated that help). It will also allow me to set up a page on this site through which you can donate online. We’ll keep you updated on the progress as information becomes available.
